Can’t seem to budge the weight?

If you have been that 10kg overweight for years now then you are most likely suffering a plateau!

This is caused by an energy balance – the calories you consume are equal to what you use.

Tips for budging that weight and breaking that plateau:

  • Increase the intensity of your exercise or add more.
  • Don’t do the same exercise all the time it only takes four weeks for the body to adapt to exercise hence the need to change your program regularly.
  • Eat less sugar – Drink less alcohol – Eat smaller portions
  • Keep a food diary
Weight loss is like taking a long road trip. You don’t do it all in one go but stop for a little while along the way, allowing for a little rest and recovery. Then set off again with more energy and make it a little further towards your destination of weight loss!

The aim is to expose the body to an intensity/stimulus it is not normally accustomed in order to allow the body to adapt and improve; cardiovascular fitness & strength
